What art projects are you currently working on and how does it compare to your work at CCBC?
I'm currently creating works around maternal health.
I'm currently illustration to children's books.
Maintaining birth nerds.
I specifically highlight black maternal health to influence a new outlook on birth.
What’s your current art process like? How does it compare to when you were at CCBC?
I have a painting station in my living room. It's a bit more challenging because my children are home with me. I hated painting from photos but now they inspire my art!
How do you see your work growing in the future?
I hope to normalize all forms of birth. I hope to connect to families and create art through their experiences.
If you had to give advice to your younger self, what would it be?
Live in the moment. Meet people and don't be so hard on yourself. You are good enough with what you have.
